on 12th March 2023, Chiradzulu district was hardly hit by Cyclone Freddy and had the whole Village of Mtauchira washed away. 18 people died, 16 are still missing till date. The whole village became inhabitable, and the people were kept in the camps. 59 families were displaced. Currently Redcross, FDH and other companies have constructed houses for them at a new place called Mussa village, however, the families need to have economic stability. With support from HILDEN CHARITABLE FUND, the RAYS OF HOPE project is missioned to bring lasting change by offering VSL seed, business startup capital and business management training to uplift the economic statuses of women and men who were displaced from Mtauchira village due to cyclone Freddy
