HISTORY OF

YOWORI

Young Women Rise (YOWORI) is Malawian registered women-led organizations established by young women who are were victims of forced child marriage and had fallen into early and unintended pregnancy. YOWORI's main activities have been to support girls and young women who are going through the same challenges and beyond. Since its establishment, YOWORI has been advocating for human rights especially for the young people living with HIV, adolescent girls and young women, sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic empowerment and education empowerment. YOWORI was established and got registered in 2016 and its registration number is TR/INC7113.
YOWORI is also a member of Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations (MANASO) ,National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) and it is an active member of the Council of NGOs in Malawi ( CONGOMA) and NGO Board

He is a seasoned Social Worker with over 6 years experience in Counselling, SRHR, Youth and Women Empowerment, Education and Community Mobilisation. He is currently doing Master of Social Work at Dibrugarh University in India.

MISS COMFORT MAY CHIZINGA

She is the Adolescent and Youth Technical Advisor working with Palladium. She is an FP2030 youth focal person and 2020 MILEAD fellow currently doing her Masters in MPH.

MR ABRAHAM MANGUWO

He is the Executive Director of Foundation For Rural Development (FORUD) he is an experienced social worker.

MRS JAMILA ALI MADUKANI

She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Kenya, post graduate dip in Advocate training Program from the Kenya School of Law in Kenya and also Post Graduate Diploma in Malawi legal practitioners qualifying course from the Malawi Institute of Legal Education.

ETHEL VINJERU MKANDAWIRE

She is the Project officer for Supreme Sanitary Pads. She is a member of TEAM Girl Malawi. The is the Women For Global Fund National Focal Person. She is currently working in consultations on Menstrual Hygiene Management with various organizations.
